May Days

During the month of May, Nathan and I spent a lot of time playing outdoors at local parks and other various playdates. He can get around very well even though he still needs a little help everynow and then. He likes to swing on the swings, and climb up and down on the playground equipment, and he really really loves to go down the slide.

Bimonthly on Tuesday Nathan and I go to Chick Fil A and have a mother/son night out. It is a nice healthy way to get out of the house, we either go to the playground before or gym to swim before we go. And it is nice and cheap, you buy one adult meal you get a kid's meal free!

One of the places we like to go to is Centennial Park in Downtown, they have really nice playground and a 1 mile walking trail that I like to go on. And Nathan likes to climb and walk along the steps of the Parthenon.

One day we went to an indoor playgym with our moms group. Most of the other kids were around Nathan's age and he and his daddy had a really good time running around the area

It the middle of the month we joined the YMCA so that Mike and I could get some much needed exercise. They have a great daycare area that will keep Nathan for about 2 hrs so I or Mike can go workout and then we always try to go swimming afterward. Nathan was not too sure of the swimming pool at first but now he loves it. He gets very excited when he is picked up from the kids corner because he knows we are going swimming, he starts to make these very happy squeaking sqwaking noises and you always have to make sure to hold his hand when you go out in the pool area because he is so eager to get in the water. I try to take him to the pool at least twice a week and in July we are going to do some swimming lessons.

During Memorial Day Weekend we drove over to Chattanooga for a friends wedding. It was a long drive but we got there. Nathan looked very cute in his kakhi pants and orange plaid shirt but he never stayed still long enough for me take a good picture of him. We had a good time eating cake and dancing and then he fell asleep for the trip home, thank goodness.

Also during Memorial Weekend we went to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival and man was it hot. We all had a really good time. Nathan and I rode the camel, and then we all went through the little maze. Mike got to shot some arrows with the guys. Nathan enjoyed stealing our water bottles and pouring it on himself. But we all had a really good time looking at all the people dressed up and visiting all the vendors.
