Fun in February

In February, Nathan got to attend a lot of playdates he had a great time playing with other little kids and I enjoyed spending some time with other moms. Since it was still cold outside we spent a lot of time visiting the playarea in the Cool Springs Mall. He especially enjoyed it when his daddy could come with us out to play.

Nathan got lots of hugs and kisses for his second Valentine's Day, we did not really do too much exciting but it was a good day. One day we got to go visit on of the fire stations in Nashville. Mike and Nathan had a really good time looking at all the fire trucks and the fire gear, the best place to take a couple of guys.

A just because Nathan is so cute when he plays in the bath tub I had to post some pics.

Later in the month, we all went to the Adventure Science Center to see the full lunar eclipse. I think it was the coldest night of the year, we all looked like we were traveling into the Alaskan wilderness. But we got to stay up and watch the lunar eclipse and we did not freeze too terribly much. But most importantly we all had a wonderful family adventure.

And then on the 25th, Nathan took his first steps when Mike and I were both at home!!!!! He took walked 3 whole steps by himself!!! I was so excited that I did not even remember to take a picture, but it was so awesome that both of us got to see him take his first steps. I did try to take a pic when he was still walking a little bit but all I got was him falling on the floor, but he is still cute.

A couple of days late I gave Nathan a bowl of chocolate pudding which he throughly enjoyed.....making a giant mess with, lol.

January and Birthdays

During the month of January, Nathan and I spent a good portion of the time indoors because the weather was cold. We also spent a a lot of time getting over random illness that Nathan would get from any playdates he had been too. Nathan was soon nicknamed by Daddy (Mike) " The Vector" because he was always getting the two of us sick. So most of the month was spent playing indoors to keep the family illness level down, lol.

One day we went over the mom and dad's house and cleaned out Mike's old truck. We snapped a couple of pictures of Nathan in the truck because he was too cute not to take a picture off.
Nathan also got to play with his food quite a bit (see the spaghetti pic) which he always seemed to enjoy.

Pretty soon, it was Nathan's Birthday!! Our little boy was turning ONE!!! Grandmom and Grandpop Kent came down for the big event. The day off his birthday, I fixed the boy a wonderful breakfast of french toast and bananas (Nathan's favorite fruit) and dressed him in his "Born a Yankee, but a Rebel at Heart" t-shirt. Then we went to the Downtown Library to see a puppet show and then home for a quick nap before the PARTY!!!

At the party we had lots of food (pot luck style) and of course Adult drinks , you see we were throwing a "Yeah, Nathan is one and Yeah, we survived" Party, :) It was just a small party at our apartment, with close friends and family, everybody had a great time and Nathan had a blast playing with all his friends, family, new toys and the tissue paper and ribbons. And he really enjoyed eating his funfetti cake with chocolate icing and lots of decoration. Needless to say the boy slept very well that night.

The next day Nathan got to spend a little more time with his Yankee grandparents when the babysat for Mike and I while he went out to catch a movie.

A couple of days later, Mike and I took Nathan to the Chattanooga. First we went to the Chattanooga Nature Center we got to see some red wolves, crows, a bobcat, some eagles and an owl. Nathan enjoyed looking at everything and climbing on the rocks.

We ate lunch at Sticky Fingers (yum yum ribs) and we all had a great lunch. Then we went to the Chattanooga Aquarium we Nathan got to see some butterflies, otters, penguins and most importantly Fish!! Nathan loves to look at fish, so much so that for his birthday I made him a blanket with fish on it.
Nathan a wonderful time looking at all the fish, he really got excited about it. And so ended a beautiful day and month!

A December to Remember

December was another very busy month. I got all the Christmas shopping done as soon as I could because I don't like shopping during the holidays, people act too crazy for me. Nathan and I still went to our storytimes and got to meet some new friends there. We also went to a christmas party for our mommies group and had lots of fun playing with other peoples toys, :). Mostly we just stayed around the house, Nathan would run around playing while I decorated, since all the doors we either closed or blocked by baby gates Nathan had free roam of the house. We also ended up putting the playpen around the tree so he would not try to climb it or pull it down on himself. His favorite thing to do was pull himself up on the cat tree and bother the cats.

During this time he also got two more teeth in for a total of six, four on the top, two on the bottom. He started saying mama to basically everything and sometimes he would say it to me, lol. I also got him used to drinking out of the sippy cups, so we would not have to worry about bottles too much longer.

Mike actually got to have off Christmas eve and Christmas day so we decide to spend both days doing our own little family thing. On Christmas eve I made a great big dinner and we had a huge feast.

After that we got a fire going and listened to some christmas music while reading or playing with Nathan. Then it was time for presents! Since we had an early morning breakfast thing the next day we went ahead and opened all of our presents from everybody. Mike and I both got a lot of great gifts, but Nathan got the motherload. He got tons of gifts from everybody.

After opening presents we read 'Twas the night before Christmas and then set out cookies and milk for Santa Clause. Then off to bed for the little boy and some alone time for mom and dad.

The next morning Nathan was up early and wide awake. We took him out to see what Santa had brought everyone. And then we all got dressed and headed over to our friends the Lewis's house for breakfast, where Nathan ate like a pig. Then we opened some more presents at their house then came back to our apartment where my parents came over to see us and give us our presents. The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys and resting.

The reminder of the week was very lazy because I ended up getting sick and my mom and dad took Nathan for a couple of days to go see his great grandparents, so I got to get plenty of sleep .

Fall back to November

November was a month that seemed to literally fly by. We did not do too much during this month but it still passed by very quickly.
First my birthday was on the 11th and mike fixed chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. This was the first time Nathan had ever had chocolate chip pancakes. Needless to say he enjoyed them throughly.

We went to a couple of play dates with the new mommies group that I had joined. A couple were to the park where we got to play before it got to cold. Nathan enjoyed swinging on the swings. Nathan and I spent most of our days going to storytimes at the library and bookstore, playing at home, and wandering around the mall or random store when it was to cold outside and too boring in the house, lol.

The day before Thanksgiving we had dinner at our apartment with my mom & dad, sister, and a couple of friends. It was my first time cooking a turkey and I sorta cheated by buying on that had already been cleaned and everything, all I had to do was season it, glaze it, and put it in the oven. Everything turned out very well and we had lots of leftovers. That night we went to the Opryland Hotel and look at all the lights which Nathan really enjoyed. We also watched the dancing water fountains that they have there. We got our family Christmas picture taken there as well.

The Next day we traveled down to AL to visit my side of the family for the day. We got to see my grandparents Charleston, Aunt, & Uncles and all my cousins. We also got to see my Mimi and another set of cousins and an Aunt. We had a really good time and everyone enjoyed seeing how big Nathan had gotten.
